Our story and mission

Most people have felt it. The rushed eight-minute appointment, the weeks-long wait for a routine visit, the sense that no one quite remembers your history. Mountain Internal Medicine exists because that model doesn’t serve patients well.

As a women-owned clinic in Missoula, the practice was built around a direct primary care membership: unhurried visits, same-day and next-day access for members, and a care team you can reach by phone or text. The mission is simple. Give adults a primary care relationship worth keeping.

Physician · Internal Medicine

Dr. Sarah Faaborg

I'm a board-certified internal medicine physician, originally from Eastern Montana. I started my healthcare career humbly as a CNA at a nursing home in Malta, MT, before medical school at the University of Washington and residency in Portland, OR. For the past 11 years, I've cared for adults right here in Missoula,MT picking up a bossy Bengal cat along the way. Medicine treats the disease; I believe healing treats the person, and that's the practice Marnie and I built together.

Nurse Practitioner · AGNP-C

Marnie DiChiaro, AGNP-C

I'm an Adult-Geriatric Nurse Practitioner (AGNP-C) and mother to all, kids, cats, dogs, and neighborhood wildlife. I originally hail from Rhode Island, but I've called Missoula, MT home, mountains and rivers included, for more than 20 years. Sarah and I met in 2011 as physician and nurse case manager, and when she wanted to open her own clinic, partnering together was the easy choice. I see patients for primary care, geriatric care, chronic disease management, and home visits, and I'm honored every time someone trusts me with their care.
